Mission and Outreach

Emmanuel Church and our members have been actively involved in volunteering and supporting various programs that support our community and beyond. Please contact us to find out how you can help us support these much needed services.

Youth On Fire
A program of AIDS Action, Youth on Fire is a drop-in center for homeless and street-involved teens and young adults offering basic necessities such as food, clothing, showers, and laundry, as well as weekly medical care, mental health counseling, referrals to community resources, and prevention information on HIV, STDs, Hepatitis C and other diseases associated with high-risk behavior. Emmanuel collected items and filled over 150 backpacks for the winter season. The backpacks were filled with such items as hats, gloves, hand sanitizer, hand warmers, socks, notepads and pens, rain ponchos, lip balm and more.

Roslindale Food Pantry
Emmanuel Church and its members also take an active role in supporting the Roslindale Food Pantry. Donations are gathered for distribution to individuals and families in the Roslindale area to help support those in need. We always have a basket in the Parish Hall ready to be filled, so stop by with non-perishable items and help us support this great cause.

The B-SAFE Program
The B-SAFE Program (The Bishop's Summer Academic & Enrichment Program) is a seven-week, full-day academic and enrichment program serving young people from first grade through high school. The goal of the program is to build a community where all people feel safe, feel big, and feel connected. Emmanuel Church has participated in the B-SAFE Program in helping to serve over 550 youth in six Boston neighborhoods.

The Dinner Program at Epiphany School
Epiphany School was founded in 1997 by a coalition of educators, Episcopal clergy, and community activists in response to a critical need for a high quality, tuition-free middle school argeting economically disadvantaged families in the Boston area. Dinner is cooked by volunteers from various schools, churches, corporations, and community organizations throughout the greater Boston area.
